Employee Spotlight: Frank Crivello
We resume our blog series featuring Fredman Bag team members this month, as we get to know Senior Account Executive Frank Crivello.
A testament to the longevity of our employees, Frank began working with us in 1999. For nearly 25 years, we have been lucky to have his dedication and knowledge as he expands our customer base and broadens our business footprint. In a recent conversation, Frank shared more about his position, his passions, and his personal life.
What led you to work at Fredman Bag?
At the time, I was coaching Tim Fredman’s daughter in soccer. I had been downsized from my previous place of employment, and in conversation with Tim, I learned of an available Customer Service position at Fredman Bag. When I called Tim to apply, he had already filled the position—but he needed to grow the company, and so he created a sales role for me. I’ve been here ever since!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I’m not sure I have typical days. Sometimes I travel, visiting customers and prospects. Other times, I’m in the office, focused on generating more sales. Occasionally, I’ll attend, or exhibit at, a trade show. The variability in my tasks from week-to-week helps make my work exciting.
You’ve worked at Fredman Bag for almost 25 years. A lot has changed over that time, but what would you say stands out the most to you?
We’ve seen a lot of change—including new presses and converting equipment, laminating, pouch making, SQF certification, and now new ownership, to name a few. But what stands out to me is that while Fredman Bag has evolved so much over time, every day I still see familiar faces in the same roles. Having a reliable, experienced team that has been willing to evolve and embrace change makes it even easier to represent the company in my role.
What are you most passionate about at work?
I am passionate about the responsibility I have in generating sales and growing the business. If I perform well, my efforts will help the company to perform well too. I work with great people here, and I don’t want to let them down.
I am also passionate about the partnerships I have with customers, both new and established—some I’ve worked with since I started at Fredman Bag. It is rewarding to see our customers succeed and to know that we supported their success.
What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
My wife Lisa and I have a 12-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter, and we spend a lot of time attending and supporting their activities. They are both in soccer, and I coach my daughter’s team. My son is also in basketball and golf, and my daughter will be starting additional interests soon as well.
As a family, we look forward to trips, game nights, and hiking, among other activities. For myself, I work out regularly and golf with friends and family when I can. And I love to cook.
Tell us something that others may not know about you.
I have co-hosted a podcast for over eight years that covers Italian soccer, called “Serie A Sitdown.” The podcast has generated an interesting following, with listenership in parts of the world like Dublin, Ireland and Copenhagen, Denmark. It has been a fun hobby, to connect with Italian soccer fans from around the world.
