Dedicated to Reduce Our Environmental Impact

Fredman Bag’s roots are based in recycling. Our business model at our inception in 1889 was recycling used burlap bags for reuse. This environmentally conscious philosophy (and the recycling program that comes with it) remains a large part of our operations and culture. And we are happy to report Fredman Bag has been completely land-fill free for well over 2,000 days – close to 5 ½ years.

As consumers of the earth’s resources, we consider it our responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing and administration processes. Our robust recycling program is key to this and to our focus on quality. Our emphasis is on quality, whether that comes to our products, our people or our recycling. Everyone at Fredman Bag cares and owns that quality.

We are also proud to be a Green Tier participant. Green Tier empowers organizations who are on the path to sustainability by helping them use a systematic approach to minimize environmental risk. This program’s goal is to move beyond minimum environmental requirements to reduce environmental impacts and maximize our resources. Superior environmental performance is about going beyond the requirements of environmental regulations and generating measurable improvement in the quality of air, land, water, natural resources, human health or in the protection of the environment.

We are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact. It was there in 1889 and is still there in 2021. It is in our Mission Statement and our Environmental Policy.
