It’s an opportunity to get to know the people behind our name. For our first installation in this series, we sat down with Technical Services Manager Ken Hennen for a conversation.

We are proud of the high-quality standards that all of our products must meet. These standards have led to numerous awards over the years. Fredman Bag has been a consistent winner in the Great Lakes Graphics Association’s Graphics Excellence Awards (The GEAs).

Fredman Bag reached 1,000 consecutive days with no lost time accidents on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021! And as of this blog post, we are at 1,032 consecutive days. This easily surpasses our previous record of 770 days.

Fredman Bag is proud to be both a UL Certified Printer and a Target Approved Printer, but what does that mean? And how does that help you as our customer? UL stands for Underwriter Laboratories, a third-party global safety science leader that provides certification to businesses like Fredman Bag. They help businesses achieve their safety, security and sustainability goals, meet quality and performance expectations, manage risk and achieve regulatory compliance.

Fredman Bag’s roots are based in recycling. Our business model at our inception in 1889 was recycling used burlap bags for reuse. This environmentally conscious philosophy (and the recycling program that comes with it) remains a large part of our operations and culture. And we are happy to report Fredman Bag has been completely land-fill free for well over 2,000 days – close to 5 ½ years.
